Starting July 1, Brussels Airlines passengers flying to Africa, the United States or Canada can enjoy new Economy Plus service. To celebrate, Brussels Airlines is giving 20,000 lucky passengers automatic upgrades to Economy Plus through July and August. Economy Plus is located in the first four rows of the economy-class cabin, where there’s more leg room and an added recline of 12 degrees. Guests are treated to before-meal Champagne, an amenity kit, hotel towel, linen pillow and Neuhaus gift box. There are now 32 Economy Plus seats on every Airbus A330 aircraft, for a total of 18,000 seats every year. Passengers who upgrade to Economy Plus will pay an additional fee of €120 each way. However, for a limited time the fee is reduced to an introductory price of €99. “We see an increasing demand for a product between business class and economy class,” said Lars Redeligx, chief commercial officer, Brussels Airlines. “Our new Economy Plus offers more space, more comfort and more amenities at a very attractive price. After implementing our new commercial strategy successfully for short-haul flights, we are now starting to implement a new product generation also on our long-haul flights. More innovations are already in the pipeline.”
