British Airways takes delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft in January, the airline announced. The aircraft is slated for British Airways’ service to Atlanta (ATL), starting in February.
The aircraft offers four classes, with eight seats in first class, 48 seats in business class, 35 seats in World Traveller Plus and 165 seats in World Traveller. New business-class, flat-bed seats feature suite doors and direct-aisle access, 40 percent more storage, a vanity unit and mirror, an 18.5-inch entertainment screen and power outlets. Passengers traveling on the aircraft benefit from technology that allows for lower air pressure, higher humidity and a quieter flight.
The first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft is one of the 12 British Airways plans to accept in the near future, with six arriving in 2020.
“The delivery of our first 787-10 aircraft marks another significant milestone in our £6.5 billion customer investment plan. The aircraft delivers a 25 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft it replaces, another step towards our commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It will also offer greater comfort for our customers, as it features our latest generation seats in all cabins,” said Alex Cruz, chairman and CEO, British Airways.
