As the Philadelphia Eagles season is finally upon us, it’s great to be rocking our Birds gear once again. For the October 1st game against the Washington Commanders, my sister, cousin and I made our way down to Lincoln Financial Field to tailgate and attend the first Sunday home game of the season. This was also the first sunny day in a week or so of rain in the city, so it was fantastic to be outside and enjoy a warm fall day of football.
Getting up early to beat the traffic, we made our way down to the stadium to join the thousands of fans ready to cheer on Philadelphia. Packing mimosas, sandwiches, snacks and plenty more, we got ourselves set up to enjoy the morning before heading into the game. Once game time neared, we made our way to the Linc amongst the crowd. I don’t know if it was the nice weather or the hype surrounding the season, but it was packed in South Philly.
Once we made our way to our seats, we enjoyed what started as a great game. We had a few rounds of drinks and hot dogs throughout the game; and although things got a little dicey, the Eagles pulled off a 34–31 win, scraping by with a 54-yard field goal from Jake Elliott during overtime. Although the win was a bit stressful, we had a great time together enjoying the game. Hoping that the tight end to this game coupled with the embarrassing loss to the Jets last week isn’t indicative of the rest of the season, I’m excited to see what’s in store for the rest of the year!
