InterContinental Hong Kong

After a long trans-Pacific flight, the last thing I want to do is think. On my most recent trip to Hong Kong, I arrived late in the evening and headed out to the airport terminal to try to catch my ride to the InterContinental Hong Kong in Kowloon. The hotels have a joint service area at the international terminal where guests can access their waiting transportation. There was no one at the InterContinental Hong Kong desk, but after 10 minutes, I was finally shown to a waiting E Class Mercedes and whisked away toward the hotel.

I was staying on the Club Level of the InterContinental HK and was shown to my suite on the third floor and was checked in there as well. Within 15 minutes of arrival, I was given a welcoming tea to go along with my vast array of fresh fruit.

My suite was not only large but welcoming after such a long flight. The dark woods with black accents played nicely with the warm beige couches and muted walls. The floor-to-ceiling windows opened up the room and overlooked the Avenue of the Stars and Victoria Habour. I must say I spent the majority of the time in my room sitting and people/boat watching from those windows. The large desk provided a perfect place to sit and watch as well, with extra electrical outlets and adapters for guest use.

Another favorite area was the open-area bathroom and closet. This open closet was the size of a room and gave me unlimited space for my luggage and clothes. The bathroom had green granite accents along with his-and-hers sinks on opposite sides of the room. The separate shower stall was large and had excellent water pressure.

The next morning, I went down to the Club Level on the second floor for breakfast. It was surprisingly quiet down there for a 7 a.m. on a weekday, but I could not complain. The choice of food was huge and delicious, giving me a good start to a day of meetings.

Overall, I had a perfect stay at the hotel. It catered to the business traveler with its Club Level amenities, free WiFi, close proximity to the MRT and helpful staff.

I will definitely stay here again!
