After a long day of travel from Miami to Paris, I was more than happy to arrive at The Molitor Hotel & Spa. They were equally excited for my arrival. My fiancé and I were kindly greeted by the concierge, who helped with our luggage and directed us to check-in. We appreciated the warm welcome. Check-in was seamless, and we were given waters before a personal tour on the way to our room.

I noticed unique art and historic photos throughout the hotel. During the tour, we learned more about the hotel’s history. The large outside pool was formerly the city of Paris’ swimming venue for 60 years. Built in 1929, it became the social spot for Parisians, perfect for enjoying a holiday without leaving the city. During this time, the modern bikini and topless sunbathing were born. Parisians were able to relax and attend social galas that occurred at The Molitor. In colder months, the pool would transform into an ice rink. In 1989 the pool closed, and the space attracted local artists. In 2014 Molitor Hotel & Spa was born.

La Plage Molitor
The thoughtfully designed architecture told a story of what once was while keeping urban art and Parisian lifestyle in mind. It was fascinating to experience firsthand and to know I have been to a place that has connected so many.
My room boasted a modern, elegant design with a king-sized bed overlooking the outside pool. A table placed next to the window was a great spot to enjoy room service. The bed was as comfortable as it looked — the perfect spot to catch up on sleep and adjust to the time change. Adjustable lighting fixtures were found on the headboard; I enjoyed them when doing some late-night reading. Our room had amazing natural light, as well, as part of the ceiling was a skylight with an adjustable curtain that could be controlled via remote.

During our stay we enjoyed drinks on the rooftop, taking in the panoramic view of the pool and the city of Paris. We were even able to see The Eiffel Tower!
