I recently traveled to Lisbon with my husband and another couple. Expect to see future blogs detailing my experiences!

My friend visited the city last year and highly recommended stopping at glove store Luvaria Ulisses. This was on the top of my list. Located on a popular shopping street, the store can be easily missed; we walked right by without noticing it. Luvaria Ulisses is tiny, with room for only about three people in front of the counter. The shop feels like it should appear in a Wes Anderson movie; it’s charming and whimsical.

What makes Luvaria Ulisses special is the customer service experience. When it’s your turn, you tell the shopkeeper which style of gloves you’d like from the selection in the small display. Next, you place your hand on the counter so they can size it just by sight. After retrieving the pair, you place your elbow on a pillow with your arm raised. The shopkeeper uses a tool to gently stretch the glove, then carefully places it on your hand to test the fit. My friend described the experience she had during her visit, and I was delighted to see it for myself. I purchased a red leather pair of gloves with buttons. I look forward to wearing them and remembering my visit to Lisbon.
