March marks Women’s History Month. While the accomplishments of women should be celebrated daily, this month allows us to slow down and recognize how far women have come and how far we still have to go.

In 2021 we saw the first woman in our nation’s history sworn in as vice president, Kamala Harris. Women filmmakers produce more and more award-winning and history-making films. History was made at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards as three women (Emerald Fennell, Regina King and Chloé Zhao) were nominated for Best Director in the same year — a first in the 78-year history of the awards ceremony. Assistant coach Katie Sowers was the first female coach in the Super Bowl’s history. I hope this history-making trend continues as 2021 progresses.
I consider myself lucky to have been raised by amazing women and surrounded by strong women all of my life. My female friends, family and colleagues are dear to me, and I’m inspired by them daily. Take this time to celebrate all the special women in your life!
