I feel like there has been so much going on in my life the past couple of weeks, I couldn’t decide what to write about, so I figured I would just put them all in one blog.
Looking back to the first weekend of October, I had friends visiting from out of town, one from Los Angeles and another from Allentown, Pennsylvania. We had a jam-packed weekend. Early Saturday morning we headed into the city for a wine, beer and cocktail festival at the Philadelphia Phillies stadium, Citizens Bank Park. There were over 250 different beers and wines to try, and we were even allowed to go on the field to walk the warning track and take pictures. We made our way around the stadium tasting all different types of drinks and just admiring the ballpark. After the festival ended we headed next door to Xfinity Live! to hang out. My friend from California had never been there but heard all about it, so we had to take her there. We stayed in the city that night and went to tailgate the Philadelphia Eagles game. I turned my friend Renee into an Eagles fan despite being from California, so she has been wanting to experience an Eagles tailgate. After the tailgate we tried to get into the game, but all the tickets were sold out, so we just went to a nearby bar to watch the game – thankfully, they won.
The following weekend was my birthday, so I celebrated all weekend long. Friday night my friends Abby and Danielle took me out to dinner, and then we hit the bars in Phoenixville. Saturday was the big day, so I went out to breakfast with my family in the morning and then headed to the city for a pregame at my cousin’s house before heading to karaoke. I rented out a private room at a bar in the city for my friends and I to spend the night singing and dancing along with our favorite songs. It was the best night ever, and I had so much fun!
My weekend started a little bit early the following week when my friends and I headed to a live podcast show for Chicks in the Office on Thursday. I’ve been listening to Chicks in the Office for a long time and was so excited to see them live. I had so much fun, and I can’t wait until they come back to Philadelphia. Friday night we had a chill night in enjoying snacks, festive Friday the 13th drinks and company of friends we haven’t seen in a while. Saturday I rested up for the long day I was about to have on Sunday.
A bunch of my friends and I bought tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets game at the Jets stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. There were about 40 of us going, so we decided to rent a charter bus to ride up there instead of having to figure out the driving situation. The bus ride there went by quickly as we were all excited for the tailgate and the game. The tailgate was fun: We played some games, ate some good food and got ready to head into the game. Our seats were in the higher level, so we had to climb some stairs, but once we got to our seats we saw we had a great view of the field. The game was close the whole time, but the Eagles weren’t playing to their fullest potential. In the end they lost the game, which was disappointing since they were favored to win and we traveled to the game, but at least we had a good time.
October was a very busy month for me; these are just some highlights. Although it was busy, I still had a good month! Can’t wait to see what November has in store.

May 14, 2025Hotel Van Zandt Review
One step onto Austin’s Rainey Street and you’ll feel like you’ve joined the cool kids at the best playground in the city. Just behind the cottage bars, pint-sized skyscrapers soar. One of them, Hotel Van Zandt, the Rainey district's pièce de resistance, beckons with a song-like spirit —apropos because the independently owned property, rife with music motifs, was named after beloved singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Sixteen stories high, the hotel embodies Austin’s lust for music, manifesting with a vinyl corner; trumpet chandeliers; myriad musical references; replica vintage posters in frames; and its own live music venue, which doubles as its acclaimed restaurant, Geraldine’s. Don’t miss the mesmerizing installation of colorful origami-like birds composed from vinyl records that flitter from an old phonograph.
