I recently took a quick trip to Madrid. I was on the ground for only about 48 hours! During my visit, I stayed at the AC Hotel Cuzco. Steps from the metro and a few minutes from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the hotel is the perfect destination for business or leisure.
The property is part of the Spanish brand AC Hotels, under the larger Marriott umbrella. The standout of my stay was the hotel’s dining options. On my first day, I enjoyed a tapas meal with Spanish classics from jamón ibérico and calamari to croquetas and cheese. I also experienced the hotel’s signature gin and tonic in the AC Lounge. The bartender meticulously crafted each cocktail, adding unique touches like star anise. The AC Hotels’ version was one of the best I’ve ever tried.
On the last morning of my stay, I made sure to sample the breakfast buffet, located on the basement level of the property. The spread boasted Spanish and European favorites, including tortilla Española, pastries, sliced meat and cheese and fresh juice. The meal itself was a delightful experience. My only regret? Not having a second slice of tortilla Española!
