Intro to Madrid
Our recent trip to Spain and Portugal began in Madrid, with just a few days scheduled there before we embarked on our road trip. We managed to squeeze quite a bit of sightseeing into those two days, especially considering we spent half of one day trying to figure out where my delayed suitcase was and when it would be delivered.

Madrid for the Weekend
During my exchange program in Madrid, my best friend from Mexico, Juan, visited me. Obviously, we started in the city of Madrid.
Off to the Iberian Peninsula
Just a week ago today my husband and I arrived in Madrid to begin a nearly three-week road trip in Spain and Portugal. We probably wouldn't be brave enough to take such a tour solo on our first joint visit to the Iberian Peninsula, but thankfully we are enjoying it together with our great friends and travel partners, Paul and Julie, who count this as their fourth trip to Spain. With Julie as our intrepid driver and Paul as her adept navigator, we are in excellent hands.

I recently took a quick trip to Madrid. I was on the ground for only about 48 hours! During my visit, I stayed at the AC Hotel Cuzco. Steps from the metro and a few minutes from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the hotel is the perfect destination for business or leisure.
