Belmond opened its new Belmond Castello di Casole last month, offering luxury travelers an authentic Tuscan experience. The property is sister hotel to Belmond’s Florence hotel, Belmond Villa San Michele. It is set within a castle built in 998, restored in the 1900s and located within a medieval village featuring Etruscan artifacts, on a nature reserve between Siena and Florence, surrounded by villages, farmland and the property’s own olive groves and vineyard.

The property features 39 suites with design features including original stone flooring and regional alabaster. Suites within the 10^th-century medieval tower boast original fireplaces and stone wall detailing.

Beyond the luxurious guestrooms, Belmond Castello di Casole offers a spa in the historic wine cellar, which features artifacts from the fourth century. Signature treatments incorporate local ingredients such as rosemary, grape seed, olive oil and red wine. The spa’s terrace hosts sunrise yoga sessions.

Other public spaces include several on-site dining options, such as Cip’s Club for Venetian cuisine and Tosca, offering an Old Tuscan-style menu. Bar Visconti is named after cinematography legend Luchino Visconti and overlooks the infinity pool.

Guest activities range from sunset wildlife safaris to truffle hunting, hiking to cycling.
