Austrian Airlines will roll out its new premium-economy class on its long-haul flights starting March 6, 2018.
Tickets can be booked now for the new category on all of Austrian Airlines’ long-haul flights. The carrier will retrofit all 11 of its current long-haul planes, and any new planes will come outfitted. The first Boeing 767 to feature the seats began retrofit last month.
“The new premium economy class is an important milestone in our strategy aimed at linking the issue of individualization with quality,” said Andreas Otto, COO, Austrian Airlines. “The customer can individually choose the travel class according to her or his needs, whether the preference is to fly in a price-conscious manner in economy class, treat oneself to a little more service and comfort in premium economy or luxury travel in business class.”
The seating will be similar to parent airline Lufthansa. The 767-300ERs will offer 18 seats, while the 777-200ERs promise no fewer than 24.
The seats have 38 inches of legroom, a footrest, a 12-inch screen, power outlets and USB ports. Premium-economy passengers also receive amenity kits.
