Travelers who plan to use Amtrak for their next group trip can take advantage of new train ticket discounts.
As of late April, Amtrak is offering a new discount program called “Share Fares” which allows groups up to four to book tickets at a discounted rate. The first customer will pay the full price, while the second customer will receive a discount of 15 percent, the third customer of 60 percent and the fourth customer of 70 percent.
Discounts are applicable to Amtrak’s Northeast Regional route (between Boston and Washington, D.C.) and other routes across the nation, such as the California Zephyr, the City of New Orleans and the Southwest Chief.
Travelers can enter the promo code V291 at checkout to apply savings to their ticket prices, only valid for one-way ticket purchases. To receive the discount for both directions of travel, guests should purchase two separate one-way tickets. The rate does not apply to Acela Express or Auto Train passengers.
