American Airlines is adding flights to Huatulco (HUX) and Acapulco (ACA), Mexico, this winter. The company will boost service to the Caribbean and to Miami International Airport, the airline’s primary connecting hub for the region.

The airline is adding three new routes to Mexico, including an additional flight to Chihuahua (CUU), five new Caribbean routes, and eight new U.S. domestic routes.

The airline will start its daily service between Phoenix (PHX) and Chihuahua, Dec. 18; American already flies to the northwestern Mexico state from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). The airline begins its seasonal Tuesday and Saturday service from DFW to the Pacific resort regions of Huatulco (HUX) and Acapulco (ACA), Dec. 21.

Flights from New York (JFK) to Georgetown (GEO), Guyana, will begin flying Dec. 18, when American will add second daily flights from DFW to San Jose (SJC) and Liberia (LIR), Costa Rica, too. The airline will start new Saturday flights Dec. 21, from DFW and Chicago (ORD) to St Thomas (STT) in the U.S. Virgin Islands — ORD also will get new service to St Lucia (UVF) on the same day. The airline also announced seasonal Caribbean services of New York (LGA)–Bermuda (BDA) and Charlotte (CLT)–Grenada (GND).
