Janu, meaning “soul” in Sanskrit, opens its inaugural hotel in Tokyo, marking the beginning of an ever-expanding network of 12 properties. Janu draws from the legacy of its sibling brand Aman. Whereas Aman is sanctuary, Janu is connection, and this concept is woven throughout the hotel.

The hotel sits in the center of Azabudai Hills, a dynamic new neighborhood in Tokyo. Janu Tokyo features 122 guestrooms and suites, eight venues for dining and socializing, and a 43,000-square-foot spa and wellness center. In fact, the hotel’s gym is one of Tokyo’s largest, at a whopping 3,659 square feet, accompanied by five movement studios for group exercise like spinning, yoga, golf simulation and a thermal area. The thermal area comes with an 82-foot-long indoor lap pool and heated lounge pool.

Additionally, Janu Tokyo boasts two signature Spa Houses available for up to four guests, as well as a consultation room, hair and nail salon, and seven private treatment rooms offering an array of Janu therapies.

Janu Tokyo’s two Aman Essential boutiques, the first standalone outlets outside an Aman resort setting, are accessible to guests and Azabudai Hill visitors from street level.

For dining, guests are spoiled with choice, from three Italian open-kitchen counters to Janu Patisserie to ligura, a spot offering á la carte or omakase dining in an intimate setting. Janu Grill features a show kitchen, two wine cellars and two private dining rooms, while Hu Jing presents Cantonese specials. The Janu Lounge and Garden Terrace serve as the perfect setting for afternoon tea with views of Tokyo Tower, and Janu Bar brings the best of cocktail culture together in one spot.

Guestrooms and suites range from 592 to 5,586 square feet, blending Japanese minimalism with elegant European touches. Most accommodations offer private balconies. The Janu Suite includes two large balconies, a modern kitchen and bar counter, dining table for six, separate study and library, spacious lounge, and three bedrooms.
