Early last week, TAP Air Portugal launched the TAP Miles&Go American Express Card from Cardless. The partnership between the airline and American Express marks TAP Air Portugal’s entry into the U.S. credit card market as Portugal rises as a popular destination for American travelers.
Now available to U.S. consumers through the American Express network, cardholders receive three times the miles on TAP Air Portugal purchases; two times the miles on ride-share, hotels and car rentals; and one times the miles on all other purchases. With a $79 annual fee, cardmembers receive a wide range of benefits including preferred boarding, two TAP Premium Lounge access passes per year and two extra checked bags per year.

Cardholders also earn one status mile for every five miles earned from spend, up to 10,000 miles per year. As a signup bonus, cardholders earn up to 40,000 bonus miles after spending $2,500 in the first 90 days after being approved for the card. And, until Nov. 30, TAP and Cardless add an extra 20,000 bonus miles (for a total of 60,000 bonus miles) once a cardholder spends $2,500 in the first 90 days.
