Alaska Airlines opened a new lounge at New York JFK, marking the airline’s first lounge on the East Coast. And the vibe is decidedly West Coast.
The lounge is modeled after a casual living room, staffed by Starbucks-trained baristas. The menu is stocked with West Coast wine and beer, plus oatmeal, yogurt, soups and salads.
“We’re always looking to create warm, welcoming experiences for our guests,” said Brett Catlin, managing director of guest products, Alaska Airlines, said. The JFK lounge “reflects the future of our lounge offering.”
The lounge is available for free to first-class passengers, Alaska Lounge members and anyone traveling on the airline who purchases a day pass for $45. It’s located on the mezzanine of JFK’s Terminal 7.
Annual memberships also include access to the airline’s other lounges in more than 90 cities worldwide.
