To cater to growing demand and offer greater connectivity to New Zealand and Australia, Air New Zealand is increasing its service between Vancouver International Airport and Auckland International Airport ahead of the upcoming peak northern summer period.
The airline will add an additional return service April 2–May 7, 2016, boosting frequency from three to four return services per week. With the fourth flight departing Vancouver on Saturdays, the airline will add more than 3,700 seats to the route, representing a 33 percent increase in capacity compared to the previous year.
“We are very pleased with the continued growth out of our Vancouver gateway, and with the introduction of the refurbished Boeing 777-200ER on the route, it’s only fitting that we are able to offer our Canadian customers more scheduled services when traveling to New Zealand or Australia,” said Chris Meyers, vice president of the Americas, Air New Zealand.

Vancouver Island gets progressively wilder as you leave Victoria behind and follow the coastline west. By the time you reach Sooke, about 45 minutes from the provincial capital, city blocks have surrendered to forests, rocky shoreline, sheltered coves and long views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Prestige Oceanfront Resort rises directly above Sooke Harbour, where boats move across the basin, and the Olympic Mountains form the horizon beyond the strait.

With points, status, partnerships, bonuses, and the ongoing question of whether they are actually worth your time and effort, it’s hard to keep track of all the moving parts.
