Crystal Cruises and ORCA team up to place a new emphasis on marine conservation efforts on board certain Crystal ships.
ORCA, a leading conservation organization for cetaceans, will place marine wildlife experts on certain Crystal cruises to train bridge crew in proper protocol for collecting scientific information and conservation efforts.
Following training, Crystal crew will continue to support ORCA’s conservation efforts by engaging in sustainable practices and collecting scientific behavior information for the group.
“We are honored to join ORCA in its admirable work to monitor and protect the animals and the oceans we sail. The passion of the expert Cruise Conservationists on their team is truly contagious and will certainly enlighten and inspire our guests,” said John Stoll, vice president, land programs and the “You Care, We Care” Crystal Voluntourism Adventures program, Crystal Cruises.
The ORCA experts will sail on two Crystal Symphony sailings this year between Anchorage and Vancouver.
“People who live and work at sea are the most passionate about protecting it, and having Crystal take part in ORCA OceanWatch this year is a fantastic opportunity to get their crew directly involved in protecting whales and dolphins,” said Sally Hamilton, director, ORCA.
