Miami’s Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden celebrates its 80th anniversary and the world-renowned gardens want you to enjoy them after the sun goes down. On Nov. 23, the inaugural edition of NightGarden opens, providing visitors with an immersive experience complete with talking trees, special effects, motion-sensing technology features, illuminated mazes, extravagant lighting displays and high-tech outdoor holograms created by Kilburn Live, a live events division of Kilburn Media.
The production of NightGarden involved a number of well-known artists, sculptors and designers, who transform 23 acres of the botanic gardens into a fantastical nighttime realm. Interactive landscapes include a magical fairyland with flying fairies and a dandelion field that grows before your eyes, plus plenty of other surprises. Visitors can engage the space with scavenger hunts and enjoy food and beverages provided by some of Miami’s most popular dining venues.
Perfect for a family holiday expedition, NightGarden will be on view through midnight Jan. 6, 2019. The experience will be open seven days a week. Hours are Sunday through Thursday, 6–10 p.m., and 6–11 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is located at 10901 Old Cutler Rd. in Miami.
