Since the implementation of new transportation-wide rules by Transport for London (the U.K. capital’s transport authority) in February, Uber had to adjust its policies to meet new demands for private transportation companies. Most of these new policies focus on passenger safety and drivers’ rights, and, since Uber’s recent ban in London was lifted, the ridesharing company can’t afford to overlook anything.

Uber plans to implement an emergency 24-hour support hotline and improved communication with local police. When riders experience testy situations in Uber vehicles, they can air their grievances via the app, while London drivers will be required to report any incidents directly to the police. Riders also will be able to share the vehicle and driver details with loved ones, who can track a rider’s location and route.

Part of Transport for London’s new rules also include improved working conditions for drivers in the way of limited working hours. The app sends alerts to drivers when they hit the 10-hour mark of driving.
