Norwegian Air announced four new routes from the United States to Europe.

New routes include New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) to Madrid (MAD); New York (JFK) to Amsterdam (AMS); and Los Angeles to Milan (MXP). With the addition, Norwegian is the only airline operating year-round, non-stop flights from Los Angeles to Madrid and Milan.

To support the Los Angeles growth, the airline plans to open its fourth American crew base, with 150 cabin crewmembers.

“2017 has been a year of exponential growth for Norwegian in the United States. Next year, we will continue our vigorous expansion and we plan to make three of Europe’s most exciting cities so much more affordable and easier to reach for American travelers. We are not slowing down our quest to provide Americans with low fares and a high-quality onboard experience. Americans have enjoyed our service so much that Norwegian was one of the world’s most-awarded airlines in 2017,” said Bjørn Kjos, CEO, Norwegian Air.

The New York to Madrid route launches July 18, operating three times weekly; the New York to Amsterdam route launches May 7, operating four times weekly. The Los Angeles to Madrid route launches July 16, operating four times weekly; and the Los Angeles to Milan route launches June 18, also operating four times weekly.

In the future, Norwegian may also expand service between the United States and London Gatwick Airport, as it acquires 28 new weekly slots at the airport from summer 2018.
