Delta Air Lines announced improvements to its SkyMiles loyalty program benefiting elite members.

Starting March 1, Diamond Medallion members qualifying for 2018 status can now choose an additional Choice Benefit option, allowing them three selections instead of two. Members will no longer have to select all of their Choice Benefits at one time, allowing them to choose benefits at various points throughout the Medallion year.

“We spend a lot of time with our members, understanding how to make SkyMiles better for them,” said Sandeep Dube, vice president of customer engagement and loyalty, Delta Air Lines. “The additional Choice Benefit and the new more flexible selection process was made in response to member feedback to make SkyMiles even more rewarding for our Diamond Medallion members.”

Choice Benefits, only available to Delta’s elite members, allow upgrade certificates, the ability to gift status, bonus miles and Global Entry application vouchers, among others.

The Atlanta-based carrier is now making Delta Sky Club access a Choice Benefit option for Diamond-status members as opposed to an automatic advantage. Elite members that already have access to Delta Sky Club through the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express or other means will be provided with an extra Choice Benefit option.

The carrier already began informing members of the changes and refreshed the Choice Benefits webpage to reflect the new improvements.
