China Airlines won the International Trophy for best float at the 128th Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 2. The airline entered Return to the Beauty of Taiwan, a testament to Taiwanese culture and natural beauty.
To celebrate the Taiwanese tradition of bird watching, its beautiful natural landscape and China Airline’s long-time corporate commitment to green energy and environmental protection, the float featured characters like the Syrmaticus Mikado pheasant and the Taiwan barbet in its role as the A350 Flying Ambassador. Thirty-thousand colorful roses, lilies and strawflowers surrounded the float’s characters, and authentic dancers surrounding the 55-foot-long float engaged the audience in celebration of the New Year.
China Airlines has participated in the Rose Parade every year since 1987 and creates an original float each year in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Bureau. This year, it was the only airline to win an award, and it hopes the beautiful, award-winning float will draw travellers to experience the natural beauty of Taiwan.
