The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. signed on for its first all-villa property. It is set to open in Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site in China, on the Tibetan Plateau. The property plans include dramatic views of waterfalls, lakes, the Min Mountains and forests within the 72,000-hectare national park.
“We are delighted to be fulfilling the desires of our sophisticated international travellers by opening exceptional properties in new locations. Working closely with our partners, we will be curating a Jiuzhaigou experience that honours its UNESCO heritage,” said Hervé Humler, president and COO, The Ritz-Carlton.
The Ritz-Carlton, Jiuzhaigou is set at 2,300 metres above sea level, offering 87 villas. In addition to guest quarters, amenities include stone terraces, fire pits, three dining options, lounges, a mountain-themed spa, kids’ club, media room and entertainment centres.
The most-anticipated feature is the area’s breathtaking natural setting and wildlife. Jiuzhaigou Valley is a popular hiking spot, with its large waterfalls, migrating bird populations and more than 100 lakes.
