The archipelago of Turks and Caicos is made up of 40 separate islands and cays. With plenty of landscape diversity and only eight inhabited islands, the odds are high you’ll find your own perfect beach. Top picks in Turks and Caicos include the white, sugary sand of Governor’s Beach on Grand Turk, located within Columbus Landfall National Park. If snorkeling is on the agenda, choose the sparkling blue coves of Whitby Beaches on North Caicos, North Beach and Point Pleasant on Salt Cay, or Grace Bay Beach on Providenciales (called “Provo” locally), part of Princess Alexandra National Park where the quiet waters are blissfully free of jet skis. Favored locations for slipping beneath the surface to view the abundant local sea life include Bright Reef and Smith’s Reef. For sheer seclusion on Providenciales, Malcolm Beach and its bird life and blue waters — part of the Northwest Point Marine National Park — rank high among travelers in search of tranquility. The beach is best reached by chartered or private boat, as the roads leading to it require a four-by-four vehicle and a blended sense of humor and adventure. The sands at Parrot Cay are also a good choice for a quiet day of picnics and sunbathing. Searching for a little more drama? The carved limestone cliffs that outline the beaches at Mudjin Harbor on Middle Caicos, or Leeward Beach on the cliffs and stone jetties of Providenciales might be just what you’re looking for. Regular ferry service navigates the waters between North and Middle Caicos. Numerous boat charters are also available throughout the islands that can deliver you to a castaway beach for a private picnic or shell hunting expedition with your kids.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
