Located about 90 miles southwest of Muscat, the 78-room Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman is perched hundreds of feet above sea level and considered to be a part of the Al Hajar mountain range. Overlooking Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand’s South Island, the 20-room Aro Ha Wellness Retreat offers travelers an ideal venue for relaxation, providing yoga and meditation opportunities as well as healthy food. Nestled on white-sand beaches in French Polynesia, The Brando provides 35 villas on the private island of Tetiaroa, accessed only through a private plane.
