Passing through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Aug. 26? You’re in for a treat. Avant-guard vibraphonist Steve Roehm is performing with his group, The Neighborhood Trio, from 1–3 p.m. at Lindbergh Terminal 1.
Dan Schwartz on lap steel and guitar and Josh Schwalbach on upright bass will join Roehm, who also performs with The New Standards. The performance is part of the airport’s Arts and Culture program funded through the Airport Foundation MSP.
With a playlist tailored around a combination of originals and cover songs, music by The Neighborhood Trio has a soothing sonic quality that makes people feel at ease and happy.
“I think it’s a perfect fit for a weary traveler,” said Roehm.
On the horizon: The airport’s Holiday Music Series commences Nov. 28 and continues through Dec. 23.
