To celebrate one month until FIFA U-20 World Cup kicks off, New Zealand hosted the highest game of football the world has ever seen atop Auckland’s Sky Tower, the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand.
Measuring more than 1,000 foot, the Sky Tower features some of Auckland’s most epic tourism adventures, including the SkyWalk, enabling thrill seekers to enjoy an incredible panoramic views of the city and the surrounding gulf and harbors while walking around a 3.9-foot platform.
Two New Zealand U-20 football players — Deklan Wynne and Clayton Lewis — took training to dizzying new heights when they played a game of keepy-uppy on the SkyWalk platform on May 1. The event is first of many other football-related activities taking place in the build-up to the tournament, held in host cities throughout New Zealand May 30–June 20.
Today, Auckland’s North Harbor Stadium is hosting a pre-tournament, with New Zealand taking on fierce trans-Tasman foes Australia. Prince Harry is scheduled to visit the country to showcase his football talent in an exhibition match with local football playing youth in Auckland’s The Cloud.
Wangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, New Plymouth and Wellington in the North Island will host games, while Christchurch and Dunedin will represent the sport-loving South Island. The tournament is set to bring 24 international teams to New Zealand, with football favorites like Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico all involved.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
