The Shepherd Mayfair recently opened its doors in Shepherd Market as an 82-room boutique hotel shaped by the history and social character of London’s Mayfair neighborhood. The Shepherd Mayfair is a joint venture between Bain Capital and Orka Investments, spanning 33,600 square feet across six floors, at 2 Stanhope Row. Dining destinations Fayre and The Lounge are open, while Teddy’s, the late-night cocktail bar, will open in November.

The Shepherd Mayfair stands on the site of Mayfair’s oldest house, known as The Cottage, dating to 1618 and once home to a shepherd tending his flock. Developer Edward Shepherd later transformed the entire area and inspired the hotel’s name.

The Shepherd Mayfair has 70 rooms and 12 suites, ranging from standard and superior rooms to larger Shepherd and Mayfair suites, with many rooms incorporating window seats.

Adaptable furniture responds to the needs of travelers: desks convert into dressing tables, console tables become chessboards, and integrated storage keeps rooms calm and uncluttered. Marble bathrooms feature bespoke Floris London amenities.

Fayre serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including British favorites and European classics, while The Lounge is an all-day café and bar with an outdoor terrace and a street-facing hatch for takeaway refreshments.

Italian clinical skincare brand Miamo supplies a curated selection of products for in-room minibars, with full-sized products available from the front desk. Guests can book 20-minute EMS personal training sessions with E-Pulsive in their suite. The concierge can also arrange conventional personal training tailored to individual requirements.
