Taking a walk is one of the simplest yet most transformative practices. I always find incredible joy in following long, tranquil and picturesque paths.

This weekend I decided to explore surrounding neighborhoods and chose Woodbridge Lake in Irvine. This place is full of pleasant surprises! Woodbridge is a manmade masterpiece with cozy, lakeside homes around North and South lakes. Each lake is about 20–25 acres and 3–8 feet in depth.

As we were approaching, I got fascinated by so called “feathered locals”; there were plenty of them and different types. Woodbridge Village Association regularly monitors bird populations and ensures a flawless natural environment with daily special care.

At first, we were greeted by a group of Canadian geese enjoying lush greenery. Near the end of the walk, we encountered groups of Egyptian geese and colorful mallard ducks. All species are settled there permanently. Woodbridge also welcomes new visitors during migration months, easily reaching hundreds in count.

The area is quiet and peaceful, allowing for a reset and to unwind. Motors of any kind are not allowed; you will only spot kayaks and pedal boats as methods of transportation for the residents of the community.

The Village of Woodbridge officially opened in June 1976 and embraces New England Cape Cod and Colonial Revival architecture styles. Some residential clusters are built directly on the water’s edge.

Each area of Woodbridge offers something special. White gazebos look like an ultimate postcard. Woodbridge is a historic landmark and the heartbeat of the community. Each bench is located in perfect scenic spots, with some featuring heartfelt messages that turn a simple walk into a reflective experience.

This place now adds to my favorites. After all, what could be better than enjoying your own moment of peace in this place?
