Waldorf Astoria Osaka in Osaka, Japan, opened this year, recently introduced Canes & Tales, an intimate cocktail bar inspired by the romance of the golden age of jazz.

The new space is a long bar seating area with green, red and gold accents, honoring Waldorf Astoria’s rich cocktail heritage through a curated selection from the Waldorf Astoria Bar Book. Every menu at Canes & Tales is designed around a specific tale, with the opening menu based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tales of the Jazz Age. Each of the 11 short stories found within the collection has been reimagined as a cocktail, an ode to a time of unbridled elegance, reckless romance and the art of true indulgence.

Since opening, Waldorf Astoria Osaka has attracted international visitors as well as Japanese residents who desire to spend more leisure time in Osaka’s trendsetting Umekita District.

The property offers 252 deluxe rooms and suites with panoramic skyline views spanning from Osaka Bay to the Hyogo mountaintops. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, fitness center and spa, and 355,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The property offers guests easy access to designer boutiques in Shinsaibashi and the historic grounds of Osaka Castle. Being within walking distance of JR Osaka Station means business and leisure guests enjoy high-speed rail connections to Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.

Four unique, world-class dining concepts (including Canes & Tales) led by renowned chefs and mixologists delight guests with an eclectic mix of culinary experiences crafted with seasonal precision.

A hallmark of the brand, Peacock Alley has long been the meeting place of society’s most influential figures. Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria Osaka mirrors the spirit and grandeur of the New York flagship, a refined escape where guests can indulge in artisanal pastries; light lunches; and an exceptional afternoon tea, complete with Champagne served via trolley service. As night falls, it transforms into a stylish space for handcrafted cocktails and fine wines.

Jolie Brasserie, an elegant French brasserie in the heart of Osaka, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. This eatery celebrates the joy of modern French cuisine, offering classic dishes crafted with traditional Japanese techniques.

At Tsukimi, the art of Japanese dining is elevated through seasonal rhythms and the quiet beauty of moon viewing, a theme reflected in its minimalist design. Guests can experience true mastery at the signature sushi and teppanyaki counters, or opt for private and semi-private dining for a more intimate setting.
