Travel company Journey Beyond announced an evolution in Australian luxury train travel with the introduction of two new luxury suites — the Australis suite and Aurora suite, with first departures scheduled to join its iconic trains The Ghan (between Darwin and Adelaide); The Indian Pacific (between Perth, Adelaide and Sydney); and the Great Southern (between Adelaide and Brisbane) from April 2026.
There is truly no other way to immerse oneself in the wonders of Australia by train than from the luxurious Australis and Aurora suites. These exquisite accommodations offer an unparalleled experience, where the beauty of the Australian landscape unfolds before the eyes of passengers.

“A new level of luxury awaits guests in 2026, and we are excited to launch the new suites that will set the highest standard of luxury train travel in Australia and Internationally,” said Chris Tallent, CEO, Journey Beyond. “A moving luxury like no other, the suites are unrivalled and further elevates Journey Beyond’s portfolio of luxury accommodation and experiences in Australia.”
Global design firm Woods Bagot has been appointed to create interior designs embodying Art Deco luxury while capturing a true sense of the outback and authentic landscapes through which the trains traverse, an essential element in the Journey Beyond experience.
“The suites are unparalleled, a premium, elevated luxury offering. Luxury in an Australian context takes on its own definition,” said Rosina Di Maria, principal, Woods Bagot. “Australian luxury is characterized by quiet confidence, quality, comfort, and attention to detail.”

A rich and layered design is expressed through bespoke detailing, decorative timber accents, stone and marble masonry, iron filigree, and coved ceilings that reference traditional cornices. The design also references important moments in Australia’s pastoral history, acknowledging the role of wool merchants in Australian industry through sheepskin accents and saddle leather. Both suites are generously proportioned, each with a separate bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed.
Sophisticated Australian hospitality leads the way with a dedicated butler offering personalized service. In-suite guests enjoy an exclusive unpacking service, a pillow menu, a private bar curated according to your preferences and in-room dining.
The Australis Suite is the most luxurious suite in Australian train travel, and one of the most luxurious in the world. At three times the size of a Platinum cabin, it features a separate bedroom with a fixed queen-sized bed, full lounge set, personal bar, and ensuite with double vanity and premium Jurlique amenities. This suite also has a writing desk, as well as a wardrobe and ample room to stretch your legs or host friends and family.

The Aurora Suite is double the size of a Platinum cabin and features a fixed queen-sized bed, lounge set and ensuite with premium Jurlique amenities. You’ll also have a wardrobe and plenty of room to move throughout the suite, allowing for a luxurious stay.
As an example, prices start from $11,890 per person for the Australis suite and $7,990 per person for the Aurora suite for a three-day journey on The Ghan.

May 23, 2025Relax, Rejuvenate and Heal at StolenTime
At the namesake luxury, 5-star all-inclusive resort in Saint Lucia, the concept of “stolen time” used to be reserved for couples escaping to canoodle, reconnect and perhaps rekindle in sumptuous accommodations during a romantic getaway on the lush Caribbean island. But when StolenTime by Rendezvous rebranded in late 2022 to welcome all adult guests and focus more on wellness, the philosophy expanded to encompass self-reflection, personal growth and enrichment. After all, time is our most precious commodity, one that’s finite and too quickly slips through our grasp; we need to find those moments that matter and make them count.

May 21, 2025Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review
In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
