Sofitel New York recently announced a comprehensive refurbishment project, timed to the Sofitel brand’s 60^th anniversary this year. The Manhattan property’s renovation, set to start in late 2024, will reach all facets of the hotel, including the 398 guestrooms and suites, lobby, meeting spaces, elevators, and corridors. Completion of the public areas is anticipated by fall 2025.

This year, we are opening five new Sofitel hotels worldwide and have already announced two new locations—Sofitel Jaipur Jawahar Circle and Sofitel Legend The Mozart Prague. Our goal is to bring a little piece of France everywhere, supported by our dynamic pipeline of 30 hotels set to open by 2027. The hotel’s current design mixes Parisian Art Deco with 1940s Manhattan, and the new design will still embrace this concept, creating a dialogue between sleek modernity and timeless elegance. Expect tones of black, gray, white and gold, with vivid artwork and metallic accents.

Dieter Schmitz recently joined Sofitel New York as general manager, and will focus on refreshing the luxury hotel.
