Found in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, Marble Arch Caves are an already-popular site thanks to its otherworldly limestone formations. But visitors to the cave can also experience its ancient wonders in a unique way: a cave cruise.
Erne Water Taxi and Marble Arch Caves collaborated to create an adventure this year in celebration of the caves’ 40th anniversary and Erne Water Taxi’s 10 years operating on Lough Erne. Travelers can climb aboard eco-friendly Island Discovery, which enters the caves via a guided tour. The trip departs from Enniskillen Castle Museum’s jetty, with guides sharing stories of local history and folklore, traveling 12 miles to the caves.
Traversing underground rivers, travelers will witness stalactites, delicate rock formations and more on this 60- to 75-minute tour.

A Virtual Reality Cave Explorer Experience is also available at the visitor center for travelers with accessibility needs.
“This collaboration highlights the best of Fermanagh’s natural beauty and eco-tourism efforts,” said Barry Flanagan, owner, Erne Water Taxi. “The Island Discovery offers a sustainable way to explore Lough Erne while learning about our unique island town. We’re delighted to be part of this incredible experience.”
The experience also coincides with Tourism Ireland’s new global campaign, Ireland Unrushed, which encourages travelers to slow down and immerse themselves in the peace of Fermanagh.
Tickets can be bought online or by calling 44 (0)28 66321815. Enniskillen is located about 1.5 hours from Belfast and less than 1.5 hours from Derry.

Jun 18, 2025W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal Review
On Costa Rica’s north Pacific Coast, the tranquil, 150-room W Reserva Conchal is located in a 2,300-acre, government-protected wildlife preserve encapsulating much of the country’s incredible eco-diversity. Habitats include mangroves, estuaries and a tropical dry forest; these places are home to howler monkeys, coatis, iguanas, magpie-jays, and perhaps a jaguar... if you can tear yourself from your room, that is. My Spectacular Ocean Escape was exactly that, decked out in vibrant hues to mirror the expansive views of lush foliage and tropical flowers (and ocean beyond), while incorporating indigenous patterns of tico culture. Design details included a green leather headboard and free-form leather sofa, a blue and orange mural, and tropical hardwood furnishings and paneling. A surfboard was reimagined into a shelf for the coffee station in a clever nod to the region’s surfing culture. The massive bathroom’s oversized shower looks out onto the vegetation, and my balcony was the perfect nook to sip wine with a side of sunset.
