Capella Hotels and Resorts plans to open its third property in China with the debut of Capella Nanjing in 2025. The hotel will lie alongside Changjiang Road in the heart of Nanjing. Designed by world-renowned British architect David Chipperfield, the new property seeks to balance city life with nature for the ultimate epicenter of tranquility.
Slated to hold 190 guestrooms, heritage suites and villas, each space will see expertly designed interiors, complete with modern accents, luxurious textures and contemporary amenities. Chipperfield aims to blend the old with the new while paying homage to the finest Chinese architecture.
Capella Nanjing will boast lush gardens to further connect guests with nature, featuring a 360-year-old Gingko tree in the center. The hotel also plans to include The Living Room, an intimate shared space overlooking the gardens. Three signature restaurants complement the greenery.
In addition to three dining outlets, the property will include the brand’s award-winning Auriga Spa, offering a wide selection of treatments crafted from organic ingredients inspired by traditional techniques. Capella Nanjing also plans to feature an innovative fitness center and semi-outdoor rooftop pool area and sky garden.
The city of Nanjing lies less than a four-hour drive or train ride from Shanghai.
