London’s 45 Park Lane recently unveiled the next in a series of bespoke private walking trails from Dorchester Collection, designed to allow hotel guests to follow in the footsteps of famous artists. The newest, Hepworth – Rhythm and Form, transports guests back to the Hampstead Modernist’s era and follows on the success of Paris, Picasso’s Montmarte; Monet – Revolutionary Brushstrokes; and Rome trail: Caravaggio – Rebel and Rome.

“Building on the excitement of our Legendary Artists trails at Le Meurice, Paris, and Hotel Eden, Rome we’re delighted to announce Hepworth – Rhythm and Form as the first of our trails in London at 45 Park Lane. We were inspired by the hotel’s relationship with Bauhaus director, Walter Gropius – who was part of Hepworth’s vibrant Modernist community in Hampstead. It’s no wonder that 45 Park Lane, with its landmark building, should celebrate this moment of history in which London played host to the shining lights of European Modernism. This wonderfully unique experience gives our guests the chance to get to know London through the lens of Barbara Hepworth’s unparalleled life.”

Rhythm and Form takes guests through Barbara Hepworth’s London life, part of a community of visionary artists, writers and architects, which also included Bauhaus director Walter Gropius, Henry Moore, Piet Mondrian and Lee Miller. A guide brings guests into Hepworth’s world, from motherhood and tragedy to experiences at London’s Old Vic and Royal Opera House. Along with the trail, guests enjoy accommodations, English breakfast, a two-hour expert guided tour and two entry tickets to Tate Britain. Learn more.

Rodin – Love and Torment, at Le Meurice, and Fontana – Slashing Space, at Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan, debut soon.

Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
