Franklin, Tennessee, officially welcomed Southall, a luxury property emphasizing the natural landscape, earlier this month. The property transforms the region by bringing in new, immersive experiences and amenities. Encompassing more than 325 acres of Middle Tennessee hills, Southall features 62 guestrooms and suites, as well as 16 stand-alone cottages.

The heart of the property is the Farm at Southall, a working farm embracing the growing, raising and preserving of ingredients. With 1,300 apple trees with 43 greenhouses, as well as an orangery, the farm welcomes guests to explore its many elements through extensive apiary, farm and Jammery tours and experiences, all focusing on immersing guests in an educational and unique environment.

Care for each ingredient featured at the farm allows for exceptional cuisine and Southall’s culinary program. Southall’s signature restaurant, Mary Amelia, plans to open in the next few weeks to serve diverse dishes showcasing the journeys of each ingredient found on the farm. Guests of Southall can also indulge in wellness treatments at the natural ingredient-driven spa. Offering a full range of ancient healing therapies and modern treatments, the spa’s eight treatment rooms and two suites for couples provide an extensive spa experience for all.

The surrounding land boasts more than 5 miles of hiking, biking and running trails through old-growth forests. Southall invites guests to engage with the environment through activities like fishing, canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding on the seven-acre Lake Mishkin. A full-service activity outfitter offers rentals for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing gear, mountain bikes and more.

Live music by some of Nashville’s favorite bands will make appearances at Southall, as well as behind-the-scenes opportunities to know more about the region, with activities like plein-air painting with native artists to found-object woodworking.

The perfect setting for an event, Southall features both indoor and outdoor venues for galas, fundraisers, weddings, meetings and more. The Orchard Event Center, great for groups of up to 350 guests, includes a manicured lawn overlooking Lake Mishkin, with a structure featuring exposed beams and rooms bathed in natural light. The Jammery, Southall’s on-site preservation kitchen, allows for interactive experiences and custom programming.

Williamsburg Inn Review

You don’t have to love brass chandeliers or brocade to appreciate what Williamsburg Inn does best: delivering a polished, unpretentious stay amid America’s most iconic living history museum. This is where you check in for traditional luxury without feeling like you’re trapped in a time capsule. The Queen stayed here (twice), and so did Eisenhower, but you’re not here to make history. You’re here to enjoy it, on your own terms.
