Take a break from your everyday lives for a couples’ weekend away, where you are encouraged to drop your routine to ignite the senses into unimaged places of sacred sexuality. This retreat features couples dancing into a unifying fire of communion, joy and pleasure. The Fire that Pierces the Heart retreat is held at Vedanta, a Spiritual and Holistic retreat center nestled in the mountains of Hot Springs, California. Dawn Cartwright, a Neo Tantra expert who founded the Chandra Bindu Tantra Institute in Santa Monica, California, guides participants through a framework of ancient secrets of tantric energy, designed to bring retreat guests closer.
Guests are introduced to the spiritual practices of tantra living, including meditation, symbolism and ritual to reach higher states of consciousness from the bedroom to the boardroom. She focuses on three ways to help participants ignite fiery love energies:
- Experience More: Guests will discover five keys to surrender, unlock your emotional and spiritual pleasure centers and tap into your sexual potential and capacity for bliss.
- Embrace the Secrets: Explore and discover the secrets of tantric energy exchanges. Cartwright shares ancient tantric secrets to bring sacred loving and divine union into all parts of your life.
- Celebration and Integration: This process involves rituals and practices to liberate the soul. On site, a rose petal cacao ceremony and breathwork rituals invite guests to reach an unseen knowingness to allow you to take home the loving, fire-ignited Neo Tantra practices to incorporate into your everyday life.
Travelers can choose from two dates: Dec. 1–4 and March 30–April 2, both consisting of four days and three nights in a king suite.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
