Summer in America’s Sweetheart City means working up an appetite in the Colorado Rocky Mountain sunshine at any of Loveland’s many events. Loveland’s summer events include the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo (Aug. 5–9); the Annual Foote Lagoon Free Summer Concerts, with free music on a floating island stage (Thursday nights in July); Sculpture in the Park, a juried event in Benson Sculpture Garden (Aug. 12–14); and the 126th Old-Fashioned Loveland Corn Roast Festival (Aug. 26–27), featuring plenty of live 1980s rock-and-roll music at Old Fairgrounds Park.

While you’re falling in love with Loveland, be sure to try these new downtown eateries:

Mex O’Malley’s: An Irish pub with Mexican grub, the restaurant serves up dishes including fusion fare like Irish nachos, Irish and Mexican brews on tap and cultural favorites like Reuben rolls, burritos and quesadillas.

Slice N’Roll: A new New York-style pizza option delivers fresh, hot pie to you via bicycle. Not too hungry? Pizza by the slice is part of the menu.

Sushirito: Another fun fusion choice, Sushirito was dreamt up by the owner of Sushi Box and Thai Kitchen. Try the Sushi burrito — a giant sushi roll wrapped in a full sheet of seaweed, then sliced in half for easy lifting.

Comet Chicken: Offering a selection of hand-breaded chicken sandwiches, fresh-cut fries, “power” slaw and homemade churros, drink choices include local beers, margaritas and cocktails on tap.

Meat Revolution: Try the menu of slow-cooked, locally sourced lamb, chicken and beef shawarma. This new, local favorite stays open till 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Review: InterContinental Barcelona

When searching for a place to stay in Barcelona, I was picky. I wanted a well-situated hotel to access all the city has to offer and to serve as a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Spanish hot spot. My search led me to InterContinental Barcelona.

The Art of Balance in Seoul: Beyond the Boardroom

The value of a destination is no longer defined solely by infrastructure, efficiency or scale. Increasingly, it is measured by a city’s ability to balance productivity with well-being — creating opportunities for focus, restoration and more meaningful connections.
