Already a much-lauded Mayfair address for those longing to indulge in the tastes of the French Riviera, Bagatelle London just enhanced its own cachet with the acquisition of Executive Chef François-Laurent Apchié. Hailing from France, Chef Apchié earned his apron at prestigious Michelin-starred kitchens like Georges Blanc, Hotel de Paris, the Jules Verne and Les Bains.
Chef Apchié will work alongside Bagatelle’s Corporate Executive Chef Rocco Seminara at the Mayfair address. Illustrating his dedication to local products and food providers and his commitment to using seasonal, regional ingredients, Apchié’s menus will feature dishes like slow-cooked veal shank in gremolata dressing, topped with rare timut pepper and red mullet in a basil pesto sauce with Taggiasche olives.
Guests can also choose established menu favorites, including seasonal truffle pizza and tuna tartare, or signature dishes such as Pomme Spunta Farcie aux Champignons with sauce Albufera (stuffed Spunta potato with mushrooms and Albufera sauce), and pizza chocolat au lait with noisettes caramelisees (no translation necessary, of course).
Arrive early, and linger at the bar with one of the establishment’s shimmering signature cocktails. Try Humeur Rosé, made with Bombay Sapphire, homemade raspberry and lemon thyme coulis, Provencal wild thyme liqueur and fresh citrus topped with Kattegat soda water; or L’Emotion, concocted with Butterfly Pea Flower-infused Grey Goose vodka and lemonade with homemade red Pitaya and poppy flower syrup.
Bagatelle London is located at 34 Dover St., closed Monday and Tuesday. Reservations are recommended.
