With the highly anticipated Downton Abbey – A New Era set to hit the big screen May 20, Red Savannah Villas invites guests to find their inner Downton Abbey aristocratic self and stay at some of Europe’s most elegant estates. From a chateau in France to a villa in Monaco, guests will live like the Crawleys, as depicted in the new film, enjoying cocktail parties on the terrace and boat rides along the Riviera.

La Casella © Red Savannah
Situated near the Riviera, La Casella lies in the French countryside, surrounded by peaceful villages of the Côte d’Azur’s arrières-pays. This Neoclassical pavilion once served as the home of former Colefax & Fowler chairman, Tom Parr, and features some of the most stunning views of gardens in the region.
La Casella boasts a drawing room full of windows and a terrace for guests to enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a moment of relaxation in the morning. The property includes many pathways lined with vibrant flowers like scented roses and lavender, with some of the walkways leading to a wisteria-draped pergola. The gardens, designed by Claus Scheinert, allow guests to enjoy the beautiful weather and gorgeous views characteristic of the French countryside.

With a shaded terrace overlooking the gardens and vineyards, the property serves as the ideal place for entertaining guests. Chateau Margui also features a wine cellar, games room with a pool table, gym, sauna, pool, yoga studio and even an 18-seat movie theater.

May 21, 2025Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review
In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
