KLM Royal Dutch Airlines expands its network within the United States by opening up flights to and from Austin (AUS), Texas. Beginning March 28, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will operate a direct service between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport three times a week on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route was postponed due to the pandemic, originally scheduled to start in May 2020. The addition of Austin to the KLM network marks KLM’s second destination in Texas after Houston.
“We are excited to expand our service and inaugurate the first scheduled service between Austin and Amsterdam. We look forward to connecting Austin to our global network via Schiphol and providing Europeans direct access to the dynamic city of Austin with its vibrant culture and robust tech industry,” said Eric Caron, SVP and general manager, North America, Air France-KLM.
Passengers flying from Austin via KLM also have the option to connect to more than 60 locations across Europe, India and Africa, via Amsterdam Schiphol. Due to the airport’s single-terminal design, Amsterdam Schiphol is one of the world’s most popular airports for transfers.
The flights will depart Austin at 6 p.m. and arrive in Schiphol the next day at 10:25 a.m. Flights departing Schiphol will leave at 12:40 p.m. and arrive in Austin at 4:40 p.m.
