In honor of Pablo Picasso’s 140th birthday this October, MGM Resorts and Sotheby’s partner on a unique art auction opportunity. The collaborative auction will include masterworks of Picasso from the MGM Resort Fine Art Collection.
The marquee Evening Sale will be conducted Oct. 23 at Bellagio Resort & Casino. It marks the largest and most significant fine art auction to take place in Las Vegas. This is the first Evening Sale in North America to be held outside of Sotheby’s New York auction venue. The event will be broadcast around the world on Sothebys.com. The auction features a selection of Picasso’s paintings, works on paper and ceramics spanning 1917–1969.
Art lovers can experience pre-sale exhibitions of the full selection of works at the New York galleries (Sept. 7–13) and the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (Oct. 21–23). Traveling exhibitions of selected works are planned for Taipei (Sept. 17–18) and Hong Kong (Oct. 7–11). Exhibitions are complimentary and open to the public.
In addition, MGM’s ARIA resort will host a four-day exhibition of luxury property Oct. 21–24. The exhibition includes a display of luxury objects, from automobiles and handbags to jewelry and sneakers.
