InterContinental Hotels Group is renovating and opening six new flagship properties around the world. The first to open was Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, which the brand said is completely transformed to meet the current needs of modern business and leisure travelers. The flagship property’s opening is considered “a new era for the brand.”
Other Crowne Plaza flagship properties are expected to open in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Greater China by 2020. Major brand changes include the new WorkLife guestroom design, intended to provide travelers with a balanced space for work and play, and the addition of the Plaza Workspace, a public, flexible work and meeting solution.
“The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia represents more than a single hotel renovation — it illustrates our aspiration for the future of this brand globally. This location is highly visible to thousands of travelers, corporate business people and global visitors to the IHG headquarters every day …” said Elie Maalouf, CEO, Americas, IHG.
The property is located adjacent to the company’s corporate headquarters. It includes three restaurant concepts, including Parkwoods, an upscale eatery; Lightwell, the lobby café and bar; and Backyard at Parkwoods, a picnic and beer concept.
“Travelers continue to evolve; this is especially true for business travelers. What was once known as the business trip is now integrated with leisure experiences. We continuously innovate against those changing needs so Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts can deliver the special design, amenities and experiences to meet or exceed those expectations,” added Meredith Latham, vice president, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Americas.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
