Purchasing travel insurance isn’t always at the top of the list when planning a big trip. Travelers who don’t consider insurance until it’s too late or decline the optional travel insurance when booking should check their wallets for one of the following credit cards — all of which include basic accident and interruption insurance as benefits:

Chase Sapphire

One of the top travel rewards credit cards is the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Although the annual fee recently increased, the card comes with trip cancellation/interruption insurance of up to $10,000 per person or $20,000 per trip, plus travel accident insurance of up to $1 million. The card also offers rental car insurance up to $75,000. The Reserve’s little sister — the Chase Sapphire Preferred — also comes with travel accident insurance, but only up to $500,000, and the trip cancellation/interruption maximums are the same.

United Airlines Cards

The United Explorer card covers trip cancellation and interruption insurance of up to $1,500 per person and $6,000 per trip, while the United Club card’s maximums for the same insurance are $10,000 per person or $20,000 per trip.

Hotel Cards

Finally, the World of Hyatt card members are covered for up to $5,000 for trip cancellation and interruption, and the IHG Rewards Club Premier card includes the same maximum for per-person coverage, but up to $10,000 per trip.
