Scan the horizon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and you’re sure to see the 22-story white tower of The William Vale Hotel — easily the most prominent landmark in the neighborhood. Tell a local you’re laying your head at this new high-end spot and you’ll surely elicit jealousy.
As Brooklyn’s newest full-service hotel, The William Vale wows in many ways. Each room — from the massive penthouse with its own private Jacuzzi to the smaller but still welcoming king bedrooms — comes with views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline. Each balcony is fitted with sunbeds and chairs to soak it all in.
The rooms are well appointed with comfortable, modern furnishings and thoughtful contemporary art. Touches like twice-daily housekeeping and Bluetooth connectivity between your phone and television are just a few of the thoughtful details that help this hotel stand out.
Attractive grounds surround the hotel, including the 15,000-square-foot Vale Park, an elevated promenade and grassy area floating a few stories above street level. You’ll find plenty of seating, and food is available from Mister Dips, a burger-and-shake food truck parked outside permanently.
The hotel pool is a showstopper. Situated on the eighth floor, the pool and adjacent terrace sport the same Instagram-worthy skyline views, as well as a bar and grill, comfortable lounge chairs and shaded cabanas. The 60-foot pool is the longest of its kind in the greater New York City area.
The hotel’s other on-site dining options are the high-end Southern Italian restaurant Leuca, specializing in wood-fired coastal cuisine, homemade pastas and wood-fired pizzas; and the 22nd-floor rooftop bar called The Westlight. A thoughtful menu of gussied-up bar snacks and creative takes on street food pairs with an excellent cocktail list. Stay at the hotel on a weekend and you’re likely to notice the line forming for a chance to sip a drink while gazing at the unparalleled views afforded atop the hotel.
The William Vale positions itself as a cultural mecca as well as a dining destination. A full calendar of well-curated events including art classes, concerts, lectures, comedy shows and more bring top talent to the hotel several nights a week.
