Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel Unveils Meeting Space

Daily / Feature

The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel unveiled new lower-level meetings space, following a $2.2 million renovation. The 11,000-square-foot space offers boutique-style spaces, personalized services and catering options to groups and meetings from 10 to 150 attendees.

The refreshed space’s design scheme incorporates warm tones and geometric patterns, including new carpeting, lighting, wall coverings, electronic reader boards and a state-of-the-art custom boardroom table. The space is pre-wired to meet advanced AV needs. A dedicated events team specialized in planning and arranging smaller meetings will be on hand to assist guests, and a 52nd Street entrance ensures a streamlined arrival.

“With a dedicated events team of experts specializing in smaller-sized meetings, our new Lower Lobby meeting space offers groups the types of services typically only found at boutique-style hotels,” said Terry Lewis, general manager. “Meetings planners and event clients are already enjoying the many ways our highly-focused team is providing these services.”

The hotel’s culinary team is working with famed New York food purveyors to offer an authentic food and beverage experience. Food is sourced from Murray’s Cheese, Zabar’s, Artisanal, Vegan Divas Bakery, Esposito and Sons, Salumeria Biellese and Beth’s Farm Preserves. In further homage to the city, breakout rooms are named for Manhattan neighborhoods, including Bryant Park, Columbus Circle, Madison Square, Bowery, Gramercy, Flatiron, Broadway, Murray Hill, Union Square and more.

Through April 30, the hotel is encouraging meeting planners to submit new names for this space, formerly the Executive Conference Center. The winner will receive 50,000 Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints or a donation to the charity of their choice. Send suggestions to [email protected] by midnight EDT April 30. Maximum of one entry per person and the charity selection must be approved by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel offers a total 43 meeting rooms, a 13,768-square-foot Metropolitan Ballroom and an 8,715-square-foot New York Ballroom. Conveniently located in Times Square, the property boasts 1,781 recently renovated guestrooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center and dining options. The hotel underwent a head-to-toe redesign in 2013.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
