Frankfurt Airport became the first airport in Germany to offer travelers unlimited WiFi access for free. Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, expanded its complimentary WiFi at Germany’s largest airport from 60 minutes to 24 hours to improve the visitor experience. Guests of the airport can log into the service via the Deutsche Telekom HotSpot Internet portal from more than 300 WiFi access points located throughout the airport. “We are the first major airport in Germany and one of the first in Europe to offer passengers this level of WiFi service round-the-clock,” said Peter Schmitz, chief operating officer, Fraport AG. “Frankfurt Airport is dedicated to meeting the needs of today’s increasingly mobile and networked society.” The new service is one of several initiatives Frankfurt introduced recently to improve the passenger experience, including new airport rest areas, parking options and special facilities for children.
