Maui’s latest offering to wellness travel is perfectly positioned deep within the island’s lush countryside. Lumeria Maui, a boutique destination yoga and wellness retreat known for its relaxed luxury vibe, has just introduced the Lumeria Crystal Spa. A joint project between resort founder and owner Xorin Balbes and spa professional Cecilia Hercik, the spa offers hands-on healing experiences that utilize ancient crystals and pure products indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands. Therapies, drawn from world wisdom traditions, include acupuncture, kinesiology, Ayurveda, shaman-led experiences and medicine songs.
In addition to six indoor treatment rooms, the spa also offers two outdoor massage shalas (Sanskrit for “pure and intimate home”) overlooking the ocean, a treatment room for couples, and the Aroma Crystal Bar, where you can choose your own custom blend of aromatherapy oils. Educational opportunities include weekly lectures, classes and programs that explore yoga and movement, aromatherapy, sound healing and horticulture. Throughout the year, a selection of retreats is scheduled. Themes include corporate, detoxification, women’s, writing, art, couples, meditation, personal growth, yoga, and sports and fitness.
